College Presents Multicultural Day
This morning, Moorpark College students can listen to Scottish bagpipes, watch Ukrainian egg decorating and learn a little about voodoo in Haiti. And that’s just before 10 a.m.
The school’s Multicultural Day, designed to give students a taste of cultures both close to home and far away, will bring to the school a day full of concerts, demonstrations and lectures.
The schedule includes performances of Japanese Taiko drumming, Middle Eastern dance and Caribbean steel drum music, all in the school’s main quadrangle.
Other talks and demonstrations--covering everything from gay culture to country-music line dancing--will be scattered throughout the campus.
The event’s opening ceremony begins at 8:45 a.m. in the quad.
