Police Kill Man Who Allegedly Tried to Grab Officer’s Gun

Los Angeles police responding to a report of a “violent male mental suspect” fatally shot the man Friday night after he allegedly tried to grab an officer’s gun, authorities said.
The 37-year-old man was hit at least once and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Police said the shooting occurred about 6 p.m. at an inpatient mental health facility in the 200 block of North Oxford Avenue in the midtown area. When officers arrived, police said, they were confronted by the hostile suspect. The shooting is under investigation.
