A suspect in a Christmas Eve home invasion robbery at a Hyde Park apartment was arrested Friday as police searched for two other men and a woman who allegedly participated in the crime, authorities said.
The suspects forced their way into the second-story unit in the 2400 block of West 54th Street Wednesday about 7:45 p.m. and herded two women, two teenage girls women and one infant boy into the bathroom at gunpoint, Los Angeles Police Sgt. James West said.
The robbers then took a television set, a videocassette recorder, a video camera and some Christmas presents, he said.
“I saw one guy cussing and carrying a stereo down the staircase real casually,” said a witness who did not want to be identified. ‘
“I figured if it was a crime, there was a pistol involved, and I didn’t want to get involved.”
