(Bloomberg News)

Clorox Co. Chairman and Chief Executive G. Craig Sullivan’s fiscal 1997 cash compensation rose 34% to almost $1.92 million, from about $1.43 million, because the Oakland-based consumer goods company exceeded certain financial goals. The 57-year-old executive’s salary and bonus rose to $1.66 million, compared with $1.25 million in the year-earlier period. He received an additional $103,618 in long-term incentive pay and $155,820 in other compensation, which includes life insurance premiums. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the company said its board of directors determined that Clorox exceeded predetermined financial goals under Sullivan’s leadership. Clorox shares fell 81 cents to close at $71.63 on the NYSE.
