* Santa Barbara Bank & Trust has named three Ventura County residents to new positions. Catherine Somerville and Kathleen Smith have been appointed retail investment specialists for the Trust and Investment Services division, and Gary Uyemura has been named vice president and manager of the Camarillo branch.
* Petra Calabro has been named regional public affairs manager for the Gas Co. to supervise the area that includes Ventura County. She will direct the company’s public affairs, community involvement and governmental relations functions in her area.
Besides Ventura County, Calabro will oversee six other counties and portions of Los Angeles County.
* Paz Diaz, park superintendent for Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura, has been named a board member of the Assn. of California Cremationists. He is one of seven board members who meet three times a year.
The board serves in a watchdog role for industry standards.
