A Beverly Hills doctor indicted on charges of overbilling Medicare by more than $216,000 and facing new charges of defrauding the Small Business Administration in connection with an earthquake disaster loan was arrested last week by federal authorities, the U.S. attorney’s office said Monday.
Dr. David Yedidsion apparently was getting ready to flee the country with $2.39 million withdrawn from his savings account when he was arrested, authorities said.
He was taken into custody at his Doheny Drive apartment, where investigators said they found handwritten notes bearing the names of international airlines and forms to wire funds to a bank in Israel. They also reported finding what appeared to be heroin or opiates, along with syringes and razor blades in his apartment.
Yedidsion had been free on $250,000 bail since his indictment in February on the Medicare fraud charges. A bail revocation hearing has been set for Thursday.
