McKenna Joins Injured Ranks

The list of wounded, walking and otherwise, grew Thursday night for the Kings, with winger Steve McKenna, at 6 feet 8, 247 pounds, the NHL’s biggest player, joining it in the first period.
McKenna suffered a strained abdominal muscle in a fight with the Blues’ Tony Twist at 16:53 and went off the ice, not to return.
He joins Sandy Moger and a host of injured Kings. Moger, a winger, has a back strain that has recently developed and his status is day to day.
Defenseman Doug Bodger was put on the injured list Wednesday because of a broken hand that will sideline him from four to six weeks, and center Jozef Stumpel and goalies Stephane Fiset and Jamie Storr have long been injured.

Thursday’s crowd of 10,496 Thursday night was increased by 17 people, mostly scouts, representing 13 teams, about twice the usual number. . . . With Olli Jokinen up from Springfield and in the lineup, and with Ian Laperriere back on the ice after sitting out nine games because of a knee injury, center Ray Ferraro became the odd man out Thursday, scratched by Coach Larry Robinson. Winger Matt Johnson joined him in the stands.
