* The blue-ribbon team selected to advise Gov.-elect Gray Davis (Nov. 22) is clearly qualified in the way things are done in education. Unfortunately, that methodology has failed the students of California. “It isn’t that they can’t see the solution. It is that they can’t see the problem,” as G.K. Chesterton wrote. To build a solid education system there need to be a few people on the team who know how to lay a solid foundation--elementary teachers.
