Police are searching for a man suspected in the robbery Monday of a Thousand Oaks savings and loan. At around 9:40 a.m., the man presented a threatening note to an employee at the World Savings and Loan in the 1100 block of Lindero Canyon Road in the Oak Park area. The teller handed over an unknown amount of cash.
No one was injured, and few customers were in the bank at the time, said Sgt. Steven Bourke of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, fled on foot south on Lindero Canyon Road, Bourke said.
He is described as a white male with brown hair, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds. Bourke said the man was wearing a sweat shirt and jeans and was sporting a beard.
Anyone with information should call 494-TALK. Callers may remain anonymous.
