Re “Human Relations Board Escapes Privatization in 3-2 Vote” (June 6): Chairman Chuck Smith showed much wisdom in leading the opposition to overrule Supervisor Jim Silva’s motion to privatize.
It is essential that county government continue supporting the boards dealing with hate crimes and racial disputes. By maintaining the board in county government, minorities will have a better opportunity of being part of the democratic process Americans cherish.
