Administrators at Irvine Valley College and at least one City Council member would like to team up to build a multipurpose stadium on campus.
At tonight’s meeting, the City Council will take up Councilman Greg Smith’s idea to join with the college to build a $3.7-million, 5,000-seat facility that would help solve the city’s shortage of sports stadiums.
The council will consider forming a discussion group with members of the college’s administration and the South Orange County Community College Board of Trustees.
The council will meet at 5 p.m. in the City Council chamber at City Hall, 1 Civic Center Plaza.
