Zacky Estate Woes
I will weep no tears for the beneficiaries of Al Zacky’s estate [“Foster Farms Agrees to Buy Zacky’s Chicken Business,” April 4]. His brother knew what was going on, and I assume his son knew too. The deceased also knew and elected to do nothing.
Any intelligent financial planner could have, over a period of years, transferred every single cent that the man owned to his son tax free! During that time he could have controlled the entire 50% shares of Zacky Farms that he had, with or without the purchase of life insurance.
This was a personal decision on his part.
