Easter Seals Offers Free Child Car Seats
Free child car seats will be given to 100 low-income families as part of an Easter Seals Southern California safety education program Jan. 29.
The Easter Seals Kids Are Riding Safe giveaway and training session will be at Davis Elementary School in Santa Ana beginning at 10 a.m.
The giveaway is also being supported by the Buckle Up Orange County program that includes social service organizations, hospitals, police and fire departments.
Families must make reservations and attend the seat installation class before receiving the seat. Reservations will be taken beginning Jan. 22 by calling (714) 834-1111.
Most car accident deaths among children occur because car seats are not installed and used correctly, say Easter Seals officials.
Easter Seals is a nonprofit organization providing services to adults and children with disabilities. Special-needs car seats will also be available.
