Steve Esparza
Calvary Chapel, Wrestling
Wrestling with torn tendons in his hip, Esparza defeated top-seeded defending champion Andy Kim of Poway to win the 130-pound division at the Five Counties
tourna-
ment at Fountain Valley Saturday. Esparza, who lost to Kim in a tournament earlier this year, defeated him, 11-5, leading Calvary Chapel to its second consecutive team championship with 221.5 points. Esparza was named outstanding wrestler in the lower weights.

Tarbut V’Torah, Basketball
He scored 31 and 27 points in two victories for Tarbut V’Torah, the only undefeated team in the county.

University, Basketball
He had 23 points and six rebounds, and 32 points and 12 rebounds in wins over Northwood and Costa Mesa.
Norrelle Dickson
El Modena, Basketball
Dickson recorded a triple-double Tuesday in El Modena’s 57-42 Century League victory over Canyon. The sophomore had 18 points, 15 rebounds, 10 steals and six assists for the Vanguards.
Dickson
set a school record for most steals in a single game. In a 51-49 victory over Orange Lutheran, she had 18 points and 14 rebounds and duplicated that effort in a 46-44 loss to Santa Ana Valley on Thursday night.

Huntington Beach, Basketball
Had 18 points and 11 rebounds against Edison, and 27 points and 29 rebounds against Fountain Valley.
* Brittany Hayes
Foothill, Water Polo
The sophomore scored 10 goals in the Santa Barbara tournament, leading the Knights to their first tournament title.
