Named to the NCAA tournament All-West Region team after averaging 17.3 points and 6.5 rebounds in leading the Tigers to the Elite Eight. His high school team went 121-5 in four years as Rush scored more than 2,500 points.

Scored 3,053 points at Glendora High, the highest ever at the time by a prep player in state history.
