CHP Motorcycle Officer Is Injured in Collision

A California Highway Patrol officer suffered a broken leg when his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by a Ventura woman, authorities said.
Officer Mark Chapman, 30, was traveling on the connector road between the Ventura Freeway and eastbound California 126 in Ventura about 8 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by a car driven by Athena Marks, 21, authorities said.
Marks was not injured. Chapman, of the CHP Ventura office, was treated and released. The accident is under investigation.
