Driver Sought in Critical Injury

Laguna Beach police are seeking an SUV driver who fled Saturday night after hitting a 42-year-old pedestrian and leaving him in critical condition.
A man was crossing North Coast Highway at Viejo Street about 9:45 p.m. in a marked crosswalk when a northbound vehicle hit him, said Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Bob Rahaeuser. He was airlifted to a hospital.
Police believe the vehicle sustained left front-end damage in the crash. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at (949) 497-0701.
