Spill Causes Closure of Doheny State Beach
- Share via
A high bacteria count from a sewage spill forced the closing Tuesday of Doheny State Beach near San Juan Creek.
The Orange County Environmental Health Division said the beach will be closed until further notice to swimming, surfing and diving.
Unhealthful bacterial levels also were reported at Lancaster Street and the Newport Slough in Newport Beach, Salt Creek at Monarch Beach and Baby Beach in Dana Point.
Urban runoff from the recent rains also has contaminated waters at the Harbor Tower Marina in Newport Bay and docks K through O in Dana Point Harbor.
