Two teenagers miraculously survived after their car plunged 200 feet down a cliff on the northern San Mateo County coast Friday night, rescue officials said.
Eduardo Valle, 18, and Chris Bowie, 19, escaped from their totaled car after it landed on a rock outcropping in a rugged beach area known as Devil’s Slide. The two crawled about 25 feet and were calling for help on a cell phone when the car exploded into flames.
California Highway Patrol officials said that by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the car was engulfed in flames.
