A 29-year-old Simi Valley man suspected of being involved in a fatal shooting has been arrested in Texas and extradited to Ventura County, where he has pleaded not guilty, authorities said Thursday.
Luis Alonzo Casillas remained in Ventura County Jail in lieu of $1-million bail. He pleaded not guilty Monday to being an accessory in the killing last month of 30-year-old Angel Luevano of Simi Valley, authorities said.
Luevano was shot in the neck Dec. 5 on Ashland Avenue in Simi Valley after he walked up to a sport utility vehicle carrying three men that was stopped in the middle of the street.
On Dec. 22, Simi Valley police received an anonymous tip that Casillas had fled to El Paso. He was arrested outside a home there three days later.
Two other suspects remain at large.
