Red Cross Says It Has Enough Tsunami Money

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said it was winding down its appeal for Asian tsunami relief after raising $1.17 billion in 30 days, enough to fund the recovery effort for 10 years.
Federation spokesman Roy Probert said it now wanted to focus more attention on other relief operations.
The public contributed 85% of the money donated for tsunami relief. “We’re particularly grateful for the generosity,” he said.
