Golden Globe nominations 2014: Snubs and surprises

Double nominees aren’t unusual at the Golden Globes, since it encompasses movies and TV, but it is unusual to have two actors compete against each other in two different categories. But Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba find themselves paired with each other twice. Ejiofor is nominated for “12 Years a Slave” on the big screen and the TV miniseries “Dancing on the Edge.” Elba is nominated for “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” in theaters and “Luther” on the small screen.   (Los Angeles Times / Associated Press)
