Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Calipatria

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday afternoon seven miles from Calipatria according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:50 p.m. at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from Brawley, 22 miles from Imperial and 26 miles from El Centro.
In the past ten days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
