The Orange County sheriff’s bomb squad was called to a Laguna Niguel home after deputies responded to a domestic violence call and discovered multiple weapons and military ordnance inside.
Authorities arrested Juan Jesus Martinez, 56, on suspicion of domestic violence and posession of substances with the intent to create an explosive or destructive device, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Martinez is described as a physician and posted bail, according to online booking records.
Authorities said they found 30 to 40 rifles at the home, as well as “several intert military ordinance and substances determined to be precursors to homemade explosives.”
Deputies were called to the home on the domestic violence report at about 12:30 a.m. During their investigation, deputies said they saw the weapons and ordnance inside the house and garage.
