Former L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling drops suit against V. Stiviano

Billionaire Donald Sterling has dropped his lawsuit against a former female friend over the recording of his off-color remarks that cost him ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers.
A Los Angeles County judge dismissed the lawsuit against V. Stiviano on Wednesday at Sterling’s request.
The lawsuit accused Stiviano and celebrity website TMZ of violating Sterling’s privacy and causing damage on a “scale of unparalleled and unprecedented magnitude.”
TMZ was previously dismissed from the lawsuit.
It’s unclear why Sterling decided to drop the lawsuit. Neither Sterling’s nor Stiviano’s attorneys immediately returned calls for comment.
Stiviano has said Sterling consented to her recordings of him telling her not to associate with black people. Sterling was forced from the NBA, and the Clippers were sold to former Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.
