Authorities are investigating the case of a man who reportedly managed to crawl from a riverbed up to the 605 Freeway after he was left naked, bound and severely burned.
Authorities said the man was found by a driver sometime before 2 p.m. Tuesday on the side of the northbound 605, north of the 60 Freeway in the City of Industry. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said the man had apparently been assaulted, then burned and left in the riverbed wash.
The man had “severe” burns on his face and body, officials said, and was partially bound when discovered, KABC-TV reported.
The man, who investigators are trying to identify, was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, officials said.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arson explosive detail at (323) 881-7500.
