Paris Hilton’s brother crashes BMW, suffers ‘major injuries’

Authorities are investigating a crash Saturday in Cathedral City, Calif., that left hotel heiress Paris Hilton’s younger brother seriously injured.
Conrad Hilton, the reality-TV starlet’s youngest sibling, suffered major injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Hospital after he crashed his BMW on the eastbound 10 Freeway west of Date Palm Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 19-year-old Beverly Hills resident was traveling at a high rate of speed when he tried to change lanes and struck the rear of a Volkswagen Beetle, CHP officials said.
The impact caused Hilton and the driver of the Volkswagen to lose control.
Conrad Hilton crashed into a semi-tractor trailer and veered off the roadway.
Firefighters used extrication tools to rescue Hilton, who was trapped inside the BMW.
No one else, include the driver of the VW, was injured, authorities said.
Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the collision, CHP officials said in a statement.
