A Baldwin Park man has been charged with killing his 21-month-old son, authorities said Friday.
David Paz Vasquez, 32, was being held in lieu of $1 million bail; his arraignment was scheduled for July 10.
Vasquez’s son, Joshua, was taken Wednesday afternoon to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not said what the toddler’s injuries were.
Authorities had been to the Vasquez family home before. About a year ago, officials with the Children and Family Services Department said they visited the home in the 3700 block of Downing Street to investigate after Joshua suffered a broken leg.
Authorities did not provide details on the findings of the investigation.
Vasquez faces 25 years to life if convicted.
