Boys’ basketball: Crespi advances to Fairfax tournament semifinals

Crespi continues to show potential and talent, advancing to the semifinals of the Fairfax tournament on Thursday night with a 67-59 win over Windward.
De’Anthony Melton scored 16 points and sophomores Brandon Williams and Taj Regans added 14 points apiece. Jalen Harris had 21 points and Jules Bernard 19 for Windward.
Sierra Canyon defeated Mater Dei, 71-53. Terrance McBride scored 18 points for Sierra Canyon. Spencer Freedman had 14 points for Mater Dei. Crespi will play Mater Dei in Friday’s 7:30 p.m. semifinals. Sierra Canyon is unavailable to play on Friday.
The other semifinal will feature Chino Hills against Corona Centennial at 6 p.m. The championship game is Saturday at 6 p.m.
In consolation games, La Canada defeated Santa Monica, 65-56. Sean Estes scored 26 points and Grant Arthur 18. Jayce Johnson had 20 points for Santa Monica.
Orange Lutheran defeated Alemany, 69-59. Chris Williams scored 16 points.
