USC recruiting: Receiver Velus Jones commits to Trojans

Velus Jones, a receiver from Saraland High in Alabama, committed to USC on Monday, 247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow reported.

“USC is the place to be. I heard it’s great out there,” Jones told Bartow.

Jones, 5 feet 11 and 180 pounds, is the seventh player to commit to the Trojans’ 2016 recruiting class.

USC also has commitments from tight end Isaac Garcia, running back Melquise Stovall, offensive linemen Nathan Smith and Frank Martin and linebackers Daeline Hayes and Mique Juarez.
